Q. DO I NEED A RESERVATION TO VISIT BEETLE HOUSE?
A. No, reservations are to guarantee dinner service only. Simply put, if you want to guarantee a spot for yourself to eat we recommend making a reservation as we are a small restaurant and we book up very fast. No reservations are required or accepted for drinks or bar service. Reservations are for eating only. We also generally have tables available for eating on the weekdays and we do accept walk ins on a first come first serve basis. The bar is ALWAYS walk in for drinks.
Q. HOW DO I MAKE A RESERVATION?
A. Follow the reservations of booking tabs from our website or facebook page to make a reservation. Make sure to provide your correct email address and cell phone number as that is how you confirm your reservation and get notifications.
Q. WHY DO YOU NEED A CREDIT CARD TO BOOK A RESERVATION?
A. We require a credit card to secure a table reservation for dinner service only. If you do not show up for your reservation and do not cancel it within 24 hours before we will charge a $25 per table cancellation fee. If you cancel in the requested time frame (minimum 24 hours in advance) there is no charge.
Q. HOW DO I CANCEL A RESERVATION AND WILL I BE CHARGED?
A. We require a 24 hour minimum notice for reservation cancellations. All reservations are made through our reservation service from our reservations tab, and must be canceled the same way. All reservations must be canceled through the reservation service (the same way it was made) links are located inside the confirmation email received when making the reservation. Failure to cancel a reservation (no shows) will result in a $25 (per table) cancellation fee. Table size is based on a two person table.
Q. WHAT IF I NEED TO REDUCE OR INCREASE MY PARTY SIZE? WILL I BE CHARGED?
A. You reduce or increase your party size the same way you made the reservation through the service. Simply follow the links in your confirmation email to log back into your reservation. If you are reducing your party size by more than 1 person you must do so no less than 24 hours in advance or you may be subject to a $25 per table charge. For instance, a party that has booked for 12 people would be utilizing six two top tables. If only six of them show up and they did not cancel or reduce their reservation with a minimum of 24 hours notice, they would be charged a $75 cancellation fee. If you would like to increase your party size you may also do that through the service. If the reservation service wont allow if it means we do not have the room available for your increase.
Q. WHAT ARE THE REQUIREMENTS FOR PARTIES OF 10 OR MORE?
A. Parties of ten or more must meet a minimum of $300 (food and beverage combined).
Q. WHAT SHOULD I TIP?
A. That is entirely up to you but, all of our servers and bartenders are characters and actors and are working very hard not only to serve you as fast as possible but also to make sure you have a great time. We recommend 18-20% on average. Groups of six or more for table service are automatically assessed an 18% gratuity.
Q. WHY DOESN’T ANYONE ANSWER THE PHONE WHEN I CALL?
A. We use an automated messaging system and a fully automated booking and communication system because we are a small independently owned and operated business. We do not have a call center or a team of dedicated phone engineers to handle the 300-500 calls per day that we receive. We do however check our voice messages twice per day and return all call within 24-48 hours. for even faster reply times you can also email firstname.lastname@example.org
Q. WHEN AND WHY SHOULD I CONTACT BEETLE HOUSE BY PHONE OR EMAIL?
A. As stated above we have streamlined the process of making and changing and canceling reservations so that the customer has all the control and should never need to interact with the restaurant for that process. However, we do have a dedicated phone mailbox specifically for the following reasons; For parties of 10 or more or special events. For renting out beetle house and for catering. Lost or found items at Beetle House or to report a problem.

Q. ARE YOU NUT AND ALLERGY FREE/SAFE?
A. No, unfortunately we are not able to guarantee that an of our food products are safe from tree nuts, shell fish, mushrooms or other common food allergies. We also do not offer a gluten free option.

A. Yes, for dinner and table service.
Q. ARE YOU HANDICAP ACCESSIBLE?
A. No, we have two small steps up to get into the door and our bathrooms are not handicap ready but we are surely willing to help anyone in a chair get in to the building and have many times. Since our building is very old and has been a functioning restaurant since the early 1980s we are not able to accommodate handicap needs in our New York location unfortunately the building size simply will not allow it.
Q. CAN WE BRING THE KIDS?
A. Yes, however some of the characters and entertainers could be scar to children under 10 years old so do so at your own risk. We have had hundreds of families and small children eating here and have had good response from them.
Q. CAN WE BRING OUR OWN CAKE, DESSERT ITEM, WINE ETC?
A. NO! its a violation of the NYC health code to allow the serving or consumption of outside food or beverages in our establishment. However we offer a great selection of desserts and food and can custom make whatever you need with advance notice.
